When I design my bags, I take my inspiration from all sorts of place’s and patterns I come across. I have to say an already designed pattern does take the hard work out of it, but I always do a lot of tweaking as well, just to get it how I want the pattern.
Here are just a few of my favourite bags that I have made. Most have already gone to good homes but I do have a couple for sale and the link to buy the bag, is the bottom of the image.

The ‘For Pleats Sake’Tote
This little number is a FREE pattern from Lisa Lam of U-handbag. It does rate as one of my favourite easy afternoon projects. A meter of fabric – (50cm of fabric / 50cm of lining fabric), a bit of interfacing & fleece and some lovely leather hands.
I break down now and buy my handles from Heidi at umvesquibam. Her leather handles are just to die for and when I want that something special -only the best will do. But check out lots of other Etsy bag suppliers; 3D hardwares is another favourite. There are a number of beautiful inexpensive handles to finish your bespoke bag if you want to give it a go – or you could let me!
The For Pleats Sake tote is finish with two metal snaps on the inside as the closure & a contrasting pocket so you find your phone & lippy.

THE CARRY ALL TOTE
This Lovely bag was inspired by the Amy Bulter pattern -Field Bag/ Tote.
On the first make of this bag, I loved it, but found the size a little too large for what I was after. So I reduced the size and its perfect for a stylish gym bag to carry all your kit, a lovely weekend bag or the perfect shopping bag when you know you having a day trip out with the girls. The Best part? if your bag looks a bit dirty, its machine washable at 30 degress then a good iron and we are as good as new to go again.
The Zipped Tote
This style is based on a Retro Shoulder tote bag that I made as a custom order. I made a few changes along the way and used some serious structured lining- a craft buckram as my internal fusing to give this super structured shape and it is finished off with a zip top, to keep everything hidden. This bag is big enough to hold an A4 folder. Perfect for work!
