About MoGirl

Me & my mate – Jam

Hi, I am Maree from MoGirl Designs. I live in Wiltshire, England with my husband Nick and our two kids – Marmalade & Jam. (Yes, they would be the cat and the dog.)

I have spent a life time sewing as I love to create stuff – It’s the only way I can describe what I do. I have a day job in retail and spend every spare minute I can making cushions to sell in my Etsy boutique –

I have now been building my cushion empire on the side of my day job for 3 years.  It has evolved along the way.  I specialise in velvet fabrics that are bright contemporary fun and in bold and unusual colour combinations. My style is not for everyone.

Along the way I have done craft fairs and tried to blog regular which has ended in badly.  I get too side tracked but pulling out fabric and making something.

I love to make bags and have a page dedicated  on my blog to them https://mogirldesigns.wordpress.com/gallery-of-bespoke-bags My bags are fun and dare I say it, not for the faint hearted.  You will find linings in yellows, oranges & greens. I take custom orders on my bags as the man hours are very time consuming and I love to create that something special for someone.

I have just opened a shop on Folksy http://www.folksy.com/shops/MoGirlDESIGNS  which is all my craft fair bits and bobs.  I hate to say it, I am giving Folksy a go as a clearance outlet. I have had so many bits build up over the years that it is a time for a good clear out.  Here you will find my Christmas shop, shopper bags, coin purse and all sorts of bits and bobs.  Its worth a look.

I have tried to blog regularly but I am not very good at it -I have to say. You can always check in with me at my Facebook page http://www.facebook.com/MoGirlDESIGNS here you are much more likely to find out what I am up to and whats in production.

I find it quite hard to blog regular, even thought I enjoy the writing experience, (when I was younger, I wanted to be a writer or a journalist. However my constant reminder that I was a poor speller always made me self conscience of that.  All is can say now, is thanks god for spell check!)

I find it hard to ‘brag’ about what I am doing. I have made some beautiful things along the way and I always think they are personal and shouldn’t always be shared with the world….. Not a great theory to show off my skills.

Anyway, thanks for stopping by and let me know what you think, I love to hear from people and what they think of my creative efforts.
